On the evening of July 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Kathy Davis Studios will be hosting an artist’s reception for a new exhibit that will run from July 26 through August 22. The exhibiting artist is Monika Hinterwaldner. Monika is a professional illustrator and a member of the KDS family. The theme of her show is “A Children’s Garden”.
While the reception is occurring in our newly established Scatter Joy Gallery, a “friends and family” sale will be running in our new retail store, adjacent to our art gallery. A 25% discount will be extended to all guests on any purchases made in the store during the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
A message from the artist:
I’ve always loved to illustrate stories and draw pretty pictures, starting with the princesses I drew in kindergarten! I love to design with children in mind, hopefully in ways that inspire them to use their imagination. My favorite themes often end up in my work…fairy tales, the ballet, teddy bears, and roses!Although I studied Fashion Illustration, I have long been inspired by children’s book illustrators, most notably Jessie Wilcox Smith, Arthur Rackham, and N.C. Wyeth, to name a few.
