Keith Valley Middle School Educator Receives 2013 Middle School Physical Education of the Year Award

HORSHAM Keith Valley Middle School physical education teacher Angelo Lafratta has been named the 2013 Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (PSAHPERD) Middle School Physical Education of the Year Award recipient for the Southeastern District region.

Lafratta, who teaches physical education for grades sixth through eighth, was nominated by colleagues for the annual award. PSAHPERD gives the Physical Education of the Year Award to teachers who exhibit in-depth knowledge, practical application and contribute to the profession. Nominations are received from educators at the elementary, middle and high school level.

Lafratta said he was humbled to win the award and was honored that colleagues nominated him for the work in his field.

“I appreciate the recognition from my peers and am thrilled to be named the Middle School Physical Educator of the Year,” Lafratta added.

This is the second year that a physical education teacher from Keith Valley has won the award. Last year, Eric Shea was the recipient of the honor.

Lafratta will receive his award during a recognition luncheon that will be held on May 4.
