Well, Robert, you know all they CARE about is their agenda.
Wonder if any one of them had the strength in their objective today with a sign that read: "Stop Drone attacks. Send in the ground troops and pilots!"

Well, Patrick, it's very difficult to refute supposition as yours. My understanding is that the jobs will include positions requiring a bit more technical skill and - I would imagine - the pay scale that's commensurate with those skills.
But I don't have any better access to the official job descriptions than you do.

Your question does not go to the root of the issue. If it was the number of lives lost they were really concerned about, they would be protesting ALL military technology, wars, insurgencies, acts of terror, etc. etc.
But they're not. They are protesting a very local decision on a very specific technology that in fact protects American lives by keeping American military troops and pilots out of very dangerous situations.
In reality, they really aren't even protesting the use of drone technology. They will be protesting the use of drone technology only in Horsham. If they sought any chance to make a difference on the use of drone technology, they would be protesting in Washington D.C. where the policy decisions are being made.
The only hope they have for any "success" at all through this local protest is the movement of these jobs to Somewhere Else, U.S.A.

ReplyOther than this being a convenient locale for Brandywine and its cohorts to "argue for peace", the fact is what they are REALLY protesting is the addition of 250 JOBS in Horsham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania!
If in fact they were intent on protesting the use of drones as a Defense/Military weapon, they would take their protest down to The White House, where the decisions to deploy drones as a method for snuffing out terrorists in areas where seizure and arrest is impossible has become the backbone of the Obama Administration's war on terror!
But of course that would require the very unfortunate and inconvenient visual of the Peace Movement protesting The President who was supposed to get us out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo, etc. all within the first year of his first term!
So instead the Peace Movement will protest JOBS in Horsham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania with the ONLY REASONABLE OUTCOME, since drone technology is so ingrained in our President's National Security strategy, is to HOPE these JOBS go to Georgia, Idaho, Oklahoma ...
People should also note that on Memorial Day weekend, when we recall all those who have fallen in many righteous domestic and world conflicts, the Peace Movement will be protesting a modern technology that SAVES American military lives.
Also, not a very fortuitous visual ... Good planning, guys!

Obama's biggest problem is that he has exactly ZERO leadership ability. Just like Jimmy Carter, who couldn't get a damn thing done during his four years in office.
This kind of weakness is worst than any faults one can find with GWB. At least he could make a decision, build support, and get something done.
I'll take active leadership, even when flawed, over No Leadership.
Even when it came to his prize accomplishment (as yet unproven), Obama let the crazies in Congress (the Democrat ones) make all the decisions on the whats and wherefors of the ACA.
So the question remains, will President Obama - just as Carter did - seek "peace in the Middle East" - with absolutely no chance of bringing peace to the Middle East - as his crowning achievement for his second term? It would be so appropriate ...

@Smedley ... I imagine none of us have seen jetliners hit the earth or a concrete-reinforced building (actually three of them the way the Pentagon is constructed) at over 500 MPH.
There are plenty of pictures from the Pentagon attack that show clearly identifiable aircraft pieces. No so much at Shanksville; but there are plenty of examples of exactly that type of aircraft "vaporization" at high impact speeds from other crashes.

Drove by there around 1:30 ... They had maybe 30 people there.
I wonder how many will be protesting outside The White House in the near future to protest The President's refined, but still active and deadly, drone policy?!?
Not holding my breath ...
