Lucy is a sweet and loyal Border Collie mix who is about 4 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She is amazing with children and loves playtime and cuddling. House-trained, she knows to go outside through a dog door. Lucy will be a wonderful pet in a home where she is the only dog. She comes from a home with children and multiple dogs. She and another female dog did not live well together. She occasionally has a mild skin allergy that is easily treated with an over-the-counter cream. Lucy has been spayed and is up-to-date with her vaccines. You can meet her via WAGS Rescue and Referral on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Horsham Veterinary Hospital. For more information, contact Colleen at lovekitte@comcast.net and (267) 238-7892, or Sandi …

Uno is a young, laid-back Australian Cattle Dog mix whose foster family describes him as being one of their all-time favorite pups. An easy dog to have around, he is happy to lounge, cuddle or run around outside and play fetch. He is an all-around nice pooch who does well with other laid-back dogs, cats and young children. Uno is considered to be a special needs dog because he has one working eye. But, he does not seem to notice that he is a bit different. He is fortunate to be under WAGS Rescue and Referral’s care: He was originally found as a stray several months ago. His owners reclaimed him, but then decided to give him to a high-kill shelter. Uno is current with his vaccinations, has been fixed, and is heartworm-free. You can meet …

Sadie, a charming little miniature Pinscher, is a true lap dog who loves attention. A petite pup at about 14 pounds, she is less than 1 year old. Sadie was owned by an elderly woman who planned to move to a nursing home and reluctantly gave her to animal control. Being in a strange environment has made her a bit shy now, but she is a wonderful girl who loves to snuggle. Sadie would be happiest in a home with no children and where she is the only pet. You can meet her via WAGS Rescue and Referral at the Willow Grove PetSmart on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information contact Colleen at (267) 238-7892 or Sandi at (215) 357-2963 or (267) 934-8114.

Keith Valley seventh-grader skis, runs track, plays soccer, basketball and plays the viola. But, helping animals is her first goal.
Practically from the time she learned to talk, Jillian Yagoda has been saying she wants to be a veterinarian. And, in the interim until the Keith Valley Middle School seventh-grader reaches her almost lifelong goal, she is biding her time volunteering at WAGS Rescue and Referral and working to ensure the safety of pets everywhere. Drawing from an idea she had in fourth-grade Jillian, 12, of Horsham, recently designed and – with funding from her mother - printed 250 pet emergency decals that homeowners can buy and place on front and rear doors to notify first responders that pets live in the residence. “I thought about my own pets and what would happen to them,” Jillian said of her dog, a Springer spaniel named Chase, and Jamie, her guinea …
