Hatboro-Horsham Patch wants to recognize area veterans - but we need your help.
For those fearless soldiers who risk their lives protecting our freedom and keeping us safe, every day should be Veterans Day. Hatboro-Horsham Patch wants to honor our veterans by collecting a huge photo gallery of your pictures and memories of your service, the service of someone you know, or priceless photos showcasing that long-awaited homecoming following a lengthy, or dangerous deployment. Our goal is to collect 100 or more local photos to feature on our site and Facebook page to honor our local veterans - and we hope that you can be of help.
A variety of discounts and special offers are available to retired and active duty military in honor of Veterans Day.
Veterans Day may be Sunday, but Keith Valley Middle School is getting a jumpstart on saluting those who served their country. The school, located at 227 Meetinghouse Road in Horsham, will be hosting its ninth annual Veterans Day breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. Both active-duty and retired veterans are welcome to attend the breakfast, which will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries, bagels, Danish, juice, coffee, tea and other refreshments. Banks, local government offices and the post office branches are closed in observance of the federal holiday.
1. Have you thanked a soldier for his or her service today in honor of Veterans Day, which since 1918 is celebrated every November 11? 2. Veterans are welcome to report for breakfast-eating duty at Keith Valley Middle School today for the eighth annual Veterans Day breakfast. 3. In observance of Veterans Day, the United States Postal Service locations – including a post office in Hatboro and Horsham – will be closed today. 4. Hatboro Borough Hall is closed and trash/recycling will not be picked up. The Horsham Township Municipal Building and adjacent community center is closed as well. 5. Most banks are closed in observance of the federal holiday. However, TD Bank, which has a branch in Hatboro and Horsham, will be open today.
