Students and Staff Hurt in Simmons Elementary Bus Crash
The school district said five students and two staff members were taken to the hospital after an accident Tuesday morning.
Several students and staff members suffered non-life threatening injuries after a school bus struck a transport van at Simmons Elementary School Tuesday morning. Ambulance crews transported two district staff members and five students to the hospital for further evaluation after they complained of pain, the Hatboro-Horsham School District said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon. According to Horsham police Lt. Bill Daley, the bus "drifted" approximately three feet and struck the rear of the parked van in the school’s drop-off area at 8:45 a.m. What caused the bus to drift forward remains under investigation, he said.
