Hatboro Parade to Detour Traffic

York Road will be closed prior to and during Hatboro's Holiday Parade on Sunday.

If you're planning a trip to Hatboro Sunday afternoon - whether or not you're planning to attend the holiday parade - travel along York Road will not be an option. Road closures Beginning at about 12:30 p.m. and continuing until about 4:30 p.m., York Road will be closed, according to Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner. In addition, cross traffic will be prohibited during the event, which runs from 2 p.m. until about 4 p.m., he said. Restricted parking Parking will be restricted along York Road on Sunday. Crescent Road and Norwyn Road will be closed and will be have no parking signs posted to assist with parade unit staging. Hurricane Sandy: Road Closings

Hurricane Sandy is expected to impact the Hatboro and Horsham area from Monday through at least Tuesday. Hatboro-Horsham Patch will keep you updated on road closings. Check back often. In Horsham, the following road is closed as of 10:30 a.m. Monday In Hatboro, the following road is closed as of Thursday morning: Be sure to watch for debris, downed trees and limbs and utility lines, which could be live. If you encounter a flooded roadway, do not attempt to drive through it. The average automobile can be swept off the road in 12 inches of moving water, and roads covered by water are prone to collapse, officials said. Road Closures Planned for Hatboro Run

The Hatboro YMCA's annual Skeleton Skurry takes place Saturday morning at Pennypack Elementary School. Roads in the 5K's route will be temporarily closed.

West Moreland Avenue in Hatboro will be closed during the Hatboro YMCA's seventh annual Skeleton Skurry 5K run, Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner said. Gardner said other roads will be temporarily closed Saturday morning during the run, which begins at 9:30 a.m. at Pennypack Elementary School, 130 Spring Ave., in Hatboro.   "Have patience and use caution," Gardner said during this week's borough council meeting.
