Are you looking forward to a quiet night watching the ball drop in Times Square or celebrating with the masses?

New Year's Eve is one of those holidays. Everyone seems to have a certain way of celebrating.  For some, that means a quiet family gathering, maybe in front of the TV watching the ball drop in Times Square. Others love the energy of being at a big public gathering, maybe dancing the night away. So what will you be doing New Year's Eve?

Serving Up Non-Alcoholic Drinks for New Year's Eve

Just because you're not drinking champagne doesn't mean you can't enjoy your beverage.

Plenty of people will be popping corks for New Year's Eve and the champagne - and other alcoholic drinks - will flow freely. But designated drivers -and other teetotalers - deserve fun drinks, too, don't you think? Here are a few options for fun, non-alcoholic drinks. Afterglow: A really fruity drink that includes orange and pineapple juice. Alice cocktail: Similar to the Afterglow. Grenadine will give this a nice color.   After midnight: This is a fun take on iced coffee, that's heavy on the milk. A perfect nightcap. Golden Punch: Making a bowl of punch means less time making drinks during your party. Just watch out for the person with the flask trying to spike your punch. This one is heavy on orange juice. Guide to Holiday Hours for Local Businesses

Check out which businesses will be open on New Years Eve and New Years Day

If you're having trouble making plans for New Years, or you're not sure about which businesses will be open on Saturday, here's some information that might point you in the right direction. Looking to mail late holiday gifts or cash that holiday bonus? Many banks will be open regular hours today but closed on Saturday. Some banks that normally have late hours on Friday evenings will be closing a little early such as Fox Chase (closing at 5 p.m. in stead of 7 p.m.) and Abington Bank (closing at 4 p.m. instead of 7 p.m.) If you plan to visit your bank that day, try to get in early in case it is running a modified schedule. Post offices in the area will close early, at noon today and remain closed on Saturday. Likewise, trash and recycling …
