Hatboro Police Make Identity Theft Arrest
Philadelphia woman allegedly used a counterfeit driver's license in an attempt to withdraw money from another person's bank account.
The following information was provided by the Hatboro Police Department. Identity theft (arrest) Regetta T. Spence-Yaqoob, 48, of Philadelphia, was arrested on April 7, at 2:01 p.m., and charged with identity theft and related charges at the TD Bank at 256 S. York Road after police said she attempted to withdraw $4,500 from someone else’s account. Investigation revealed that she allegedly acquired the banking information for an unsuspecting victim then obtained a high quality counterfeit Pennsylvania driver’s license with the same victim’s information. The alleged scam began unraveling when an alert teller called police after noticing the driver’s license looked brand-new even though it had an “issued” date in 2008. Spence-Yaqoob was …
