The over-parked lot at Penn Mutual Life Insurance in Horsham may pose hazards, officials said.
The 540 parking spaces for 700 Penn Mutual employees in Horsham are not adequate. And it shows. "You can see cars parked on the grass," Horsham Township Manager Bill Walker said. "You can see cars parked in the aisles." In the event of a fire or other emergency, Walker said a fire truck might have difficulty navigating around the over-parked lot. Penn Mutual representatives came before the Horsham Township Council this week to present a plan aimed at fixing the overcrowded lot. Under the plan, the company would add 96 additional parking spaces and add stormwater management features for better flood prevention on the Dresher Road property. The governing body took no action. The facility occupied by Comcast in Horsham is expected to double in size with the addition of a second tenant, officials said.
By next year, the Comcast facility in the 12-acre Pennsylvania Business Campus on Dresher Road could double in size, adding 250 new jobs at the site, officials said. But, before the building can accommodate more employees, Liberty Property Trust, the campus' management company, needs to expand its parking from the existing 521 spaces for 500 Comcast employees to 655 total spaces, officials said during Wednesday night's Horsham Township Council meeting. The council took no action on Liberty's land development plan. The governing body is expected to render a decision at its June 12 meeting, according to Horsham Township Manager Bill Walker. Mark Rebuck has been charged in connection with a Monday evening burglary.
The following information was provided by the Horsham Township Police Department. A 44-year-old Warminster man is behind bars after allegedly committing a burglary in Horsham Monday night. Mark Rebuck was arrested and charged with burglary and related offenses and was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail following an 8:02 p.m. security alarm Monday, police said. When Horsham police responded to 719 Dresher Road, officers discovered an unoccupied silver Dodge Ram pickup truck located in the area. Police monitored the truck and at 8:47 p.m. they conducted a traffic stop as the vehicle attempted to leave the area. The resulting investigation led to Rebuck's arrest.

The one-vehicle accident happened on Dresher Road Sunday morning.
Horsham Police are seeking witnesses of a one-vehicle crash that killed a Warrington man Sunday. Authorities are still investigating what may have caused Michael Leo, 42, of Warrington, to drive his Dodge pickup truck off of the roadway on Dresher Road in the area of Windsor Pass and strike a utility pole and a concrete retaining wall. Leo, the driver and sole occupant of the car, was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital where he died following the 10:06 a.m. crash. The accident is under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Officer Jeff Biggins or Detective Adam Dunning at 215-643-8284.
