H-H Students Hope to Feed More Friends

The Hatboro-Horsham High School student council is gearing up for its annual Feed A Friend food collection drive.

Molly Mulligan is hoping to have more cans than she can handle, more cans of vegetables, soups, beans and prepared foods than she knows what to do with. Because the more cans she and the rest of the Hatboro-Horsham High School student council, faculty and parents collect from generous district residents, the more friends in need they can feed. “It’s really just as much as possible,” Molly, a Hatboro-Horsham senior and student council president, said of the goods needed to fuel the sixth annual Feed A Friend food collection drive. “It’s unlike other canned food drives. Help Feed Those in Need This Holiday Season

Many people throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties are struggling to get by. Practice charity by donating to a local food pantry or shelter.

As the holiday season approaches, it's good to remember the less fortunate and those in need of assistance, in addition to friends and family. If donating to a local food pantry or shelter wasn't an option for Thanksgiving, try and practice giving as the winter holidays near. Communities throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties continue to see an increase in the number of families who need assistance in accessing food. The number of people aided by the Doylestown Food Pantry on Old Dublin Pike has risen to as many as 1,200-plus individuals in one month. “The need has grown tremendously,” said volunteer coordinator Kate Bianchini during an interview about helping families for Thanksgiving. “There is hunger in our community, in Central Bucks…

I couldn't agree more...let's help locally with our food drives. Class-Harlan Real Estate is sponsering a Food Drive to benefit the New Britain Food Pantry starting now and ending Dec 20th. A variety of foods are needed as well as personal items such as shampoo, soaps, diapers etc. One great idea is to donate the free items that Genuardi's, Acme, Wegmans are giving out with their weekly coupons …   more ›

Church Children Donate $600 to Hatboro's Fire Company

Kids at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Hatboro helped with an annual rummage sale and a holiday cookie sale as part of several fundraisers that benefitted Enterprise Fire Company.
