Today is the last day to vote to help an area school district win $100,000. It could be in Upper Moreland or Hatboro-Horsham. According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, these homes have the best holiday lights in the county. Patch had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and then chose 25 finalists from all our entries across the country. From now through Dec. 28, vote for one of our local entries and that person could win $100,000 for his or her local school district. To vote for the Upper Moreland entry: visit this page. Could this be the best “decked” house in the country? Possibly. Congrats to Jamie Morrow of Hatboro for being chosen as one of the 24 finalists in our Deck the House contest. We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. We loved seeing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. We’re still looking for the one home so spectacularly decorated that it could be the national grand prize winner of our contest—and it could be a home from right here in Hatboro. We put up holiday lights to see how pretty they look when it gets dark. You want to capture those lights on your camera, but getting those lights to look right in your pictures can be more of a challenge than you bargained for. Professional photographers have lot of experience and cameras with all sorts of settings that most of us wouldn’t know what to do with. Here are three tips for the amateur photographers out there. The Hatboro-Horsham School District could win $100,000 in Patch's Deck the House contest - but only if the community votes for Chris and Sharon Fedele's Horsham home. Voting ends Jan. 8. The last weekend before Christmas the road leading up to the Fedele’s Horsham home is “usually a parking lot.” Spectators come near and far to take in all of the family’s outdoor lights on their extravagantly decorated home - a residence that’s tops in Patch’s Deck the House contest.
