Hatboro Police Search for Burglar

Chief believes 5 residential break-ins on Monday are related

Police are investigating five residential break-ins carried out Monday in the northeast section of Hatboro and Upper Moreland.   Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner said two homes each on Warminster Road and Byberry Avenue were broken into sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and small items which could be carried easily and converted to cash - including jewelry and a laptop - were stolen. Gardner said there was also a burglary attempt on East Moreland Avenue, as well as a burglary on County Line Road in Upper Moreland.  Gardner said Hatboro and Upper Moreland departments are investigating the break-ins, which he said "seem to be related." Hatboro Police Apprehend Suspect During Burglary

Probe seeks ties with unsolved cases

 The Hatboro Police caught an alleged burglar in the act Friday as he attempted to ransack a borough home.   Police arrested Andrew J. Dooley, 22, of Hatboro, at 11:22 a.m. and charged him with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned by District Justice Karen Zucker of Bala Cynwd and was incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail. The police department is investigating if the suspect may have been involved in other unsolved burglaries. That inquiry is continuing.
