H-H Choir Beat Out in B-101 Radio Contest

Hatboro-Horsham High School's Madrigal Singers was not the top vote-getter in B-101's annual Christmas Choir Competition and will not advance to the finals.

Hatboro-Horsham High School's Madrigal Singers did not receive enough votes in B-101's annual Christmas Choir Competition to advance to the final round. As announced on B-101 shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday morning, the Council Rock North High School choir was the top vote-getter in Division 2 and will compete in the finals for several prizes, including a new piano valued at close to $8,000 and the opportunity to perform with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops. H-H Choir Semi-Finalists in B-101 Contest

Hatboro-Horsham High School's Madrigals are competing in B-101's holiday music contest and need your votes to win.

B-101 radio listeners will have the chance to play judge on Wednesday as Hatboro-Horsham High School's Madrigal Singers face off in the station's Christmas Choir Competition.   The Hatters' Madrigals, a group of 22 students who sing a cappella literature from the 16th to 20th centuries, will have its performance of "Carol of the Bells" air at 7 a.m. on Dec. 12.  The Hatboro-Horsham group are semi-finalists in B-101's annual contest and will croon for the chance to win prizes aimed at enhancing the school’s music program. The locals will compete against the Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush and Council Rock High School North. Hatboro-Horsham School District Athletes, Chorus and Elementary School Lauded

The district recognized achievements by secondary school students, as well as teaching and administrative staff at one Hatboro elementary school.

The Hatboro-Horsham School Board recognized a select group of students and staff for their athletic, musical and teaching talents. At the meeting Monday night, two athletes on the high school’s boys cross country team were singled out – Conner Quinn, a junior, and Sam Hibbs, a senior. Both earned recognition letters heralding their abilities during this past season. While Hibbs was unable to attend, Quinn earned accolades from his head coach, Russ Coleman. Quinn earned the title of 2011 PIAA state champion for boys cross country in Hershey in November. He’s also the Suburban One League Continental Conference Champ and took third place in the District One meet. Coleman, who’s the Hatters' first-year coach and only other alum who garnered …

KV Student Choir Advances to Radio Contest Finals

Keith Valley Middle School students' final performance of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” will air at 7 a.m. on Thursday. Voting takes place all day Thursday.

Winning the hearts and votes of Philadelphia area radio listeners with their rendition of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” the Keith Valley Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade choir have claimed their spot as finalists in B-101’s annual Christmas Choir Competition.   The 165 Keith Valley music students edged out two other schools Tuesday — Phoenixville Area Middle School and Mary Volz School Elementary — for the chance to win a treasure trove of prizes for the school's music department, including $5,000, a new piano and a performance with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops.   Mindy Rubinlicht, Keith Valley's seventh- and eighth-grade music teacher, said the students and staff are very excited that they are close to winning the competition…

KV's 7th, 8th Grade Chorus Semifinalists in Radio Contest

The students’ performance of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” will air at 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Keith Valley Middle School Music Department is just a little closer to winning the ultimate grand prize of $5,000, a new piano and performing with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops now that its seventh- and eighth-grade chorus students are semi-finalists in B-101’s annual Christmas Choir Competition.   The 165 Keith Valley music students will have their harmonious rendition of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” aired at 7 a.m. Tuesday during the Philadelphia-based radio station’s annual holiday choral competition segment. The contest gives schools an opportunity to win prizes that help enhance their music programs.
