'Adopt' a Piece of Horsham's Park Space
Township seeks groups to participate in Adopt-A-Park beautification program
People open their hearts in adopting children, stray kittens and the occasional mutt of the litter. But, what about your neighborhood Horsham community park? They need love too. Many of the township’s open space and recreational sites – totaling 814 acres in all – are in need of loving caretakers to clear out trash and beautify, as part of Horsham’s Adopt-A-Park initiative, according to Mark Hudson, Parks and Recreation director. And with weather breaking and spring on the way, park adoption couldn't come at a better time. “We ask them to do four events, or activities there in a year,” Hudson said, adding that for most businesses or civic groups, events involve litter removal, but can also include painting/staining and tree planting. “…
