Kids Bounce, Learn to Run, Help Lady Hatters
Here's what's happening this weekend in Hatboro, Horsham and nearby.
Whether you're looking for a bouncing good time for the kids, or want to move to live music–or get those feet ready for a run–this is your weekend to do all of those things and more.
Here are some options:
KIDS FEST
Where/when: Hatboro-Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road, Horsham, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why go: Kids can enjoy inflatable fun, balloon animals, a K-9 demonstration and face paining.
Cost: Free
OKTOBERFEST
Where/when: Sisters of the Holy Redeemer Mother House, 521 Moredon Road, Huntingdon Valley, Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Why go: Enjoy authentic German food, a beer garden, hayrides, pony rides, live entertainment, crafts and more.
Cost: Free admission. Proceeds will benefit the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer Chapel Renovation Fund.
LADY HATTERS CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER
Where/when: Chipotle, 30 Airport Square, North Wales, Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Why go: Print out this flyer, or show it on your smart phone and the Lady Hatters soccer team will earn 50 percent of the proceeds.
Cost: Depends on what you buy.
FUNDRAISING WALK
Where/when: St. John Bosco Church, 215 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, Saturday at 10 a.m.
Why go: The St. John Bosco Chapter of St. Vincent de Paul Society
will be joining the national Walk for the Poor to raise money to help local struggling families.
Cost: No registration, but donations will be accepted.
LEARN MORE ABOUT A CHILD-FOCUSED NONPROFIT
Where/when: Impact Thrift Store, 14 E. Moreland Ave., Hatboro, Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
Why go: The community can learn more about Concern, a nonprofit, community-based child welfare organization dedicated to meeting the needs of abused, neglected, and delinquent children and youth.
Cost: Free
5K TRAINING
Where/when: Fleet Feet, 1210 Bethlehem Pike, North Wales, Saturday at 7:45 a.m.
Why go: The 12-week training program will prepare would-be runners for the Dec. 15 Freezer 5K run offered by Horsham Township.
Cost: $115 (includes moisture-wicking shirt and jacket)
