The 73rd annual Bucks County Kennel Club dog show will be held Saturday, May 3 at Tinicum Park in Erwinna. The event will feature 2,100 dogs who will compete in conformation, obedience and rally classes. Most AKC recognized breeds will be represented, organizers said.
"Bucks County KC is one of the largest one-day outdoor shows in the nation and is famous for its spectacularly beautiful site, Tinicum Park, along the Delaware River. The Bucks County SPCA supports the show through trophies for Junior showmanship and obedience," an announcement on Patch said.
Judging in 21 rings begins at 8:30 a.m. Group judging, where the individual breed winners compete, begins at 2:30 pm. The best in show winner will be selected around 6 p.m., organizers said.
"As breeds are judged, those who have been eliminated, leave. To see the most dogs, come early in the morning," according to the announcement.
A judging schedule will be posted on the club’s website a week prior to the show at www.buckscountykennelclub.org. Admission for the public is $5 per car.
Organizers recommend leaving your family pet at home. For more information, contact Brian Visokay at 845-528-0516.
