Horsham Welcomes New Police Chief, Nature Center Offers 'Owl Prowl'

Hatboro and Horsham elected officials will be take oaths of office this week during reorganization meetings.

  • The Hatboro Borough Council will hold its reorganization meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at borough hall, 414 S. York Road. The oath of office will be administered to borough council newcomers Thomas Harbaugh and Marty Palmer, as well as incumbents John Zygmont, Bill Tompkins and Mayor Norm Hawkes.   • The Horsham Township Council will hold its reorganization meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at the township municipal building, 1025 Horsham Road. The oath of office will be administered to newcomer Tom Johnson, as well as incumbents Deborah Tustin and W.   • The Horsham Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the municipal building, 1025 Horsham Road for its reorganization meeting. Click here to see what other matters will be before the advisory body.
  • The Horsham Township Council will meet on Wednesday at the municipal building, 1025 Horsham Road, for its regular meeting. The council will recognize the retirement of Police Chief Robert Ruxton and swear in Deputy Chief William Daly as the police department's new chief.   • Jarrett Nature Center will be hosting an owl prowl on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will begin at Simmons Elementary School, 411 Babylon Road in Horsham. Participants should wear appropriate shoes or boots for walking on uneven ground at night, dress warmly, and bring a flashlight. Click here for more information.
