You might just be perfect for the Friends of the Horsham Library's upcoming book sale. The organization is seeking helping hands to ready for the sale prior to its Feb. 6 opening, as well as man the tables during the sale, which runs through Feb. 8.
"Most of the time is spent placing the books on the large book carts and on the tables," said Mary Dare, a Friends of the Horsham Library board member.
Setup help is needed on Feb. 4 and Feb. 5, she said.
Money raised from book sales varied from $2,000 to just over $4,000, depending on the volume of books, Dare said. Funds have helped cover the Summer Reading Program, as well as the purchase of audio books for Kindles, she said. This year's sale coincides with the library's 10th anniversary and will feature close to 6,000 books, as well as CDs, DVDs, audiobooks and video games.
The Friends will be accepting donations–"and encourage those donations"–for the sale on Feb. 4 and Feb. 5, Dare said. Donors are also welcome to drop off items during the sale, she said.
"There are always some surprises in the donation bags from older Nancy Drew books to first editions," Dare said. "It’s worth spending some time in our shelves."
