Baseball: Hatboro-Horsham Defeats Pennridge

The Hatters pitched a 5-1 victory Tuesday against the Rams.

Hatboro-Horsham's baseball team got a phenomenal pitching performance from seniors Ryan Kelly and Zach Prendergast to lead the Hatters (2-4 overall, 1-2 SOL Continental) to a 5-1 SOL Continental Conference victory over the visiting Pennridge Rams (1-2 SOL Continental).

Kelly went five innings and retired the first two hitters in all but one inning. He allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out one. Prendergast earned the win while pitching two hitless innings in relief.

The Rams took a 1-0 lead when Brad Misialek's single scored Danny Shane in the top of the third inning. Pennridge's Evan Myers kept the Hatters off the scoreboard until the sixth inning.

Prendergast led off the sixth inning with a single and stole second. He scored on an RBI double by Brad Humski. Humski advanced to third on a single by senior Grant Opalisky. Kevin Barron's sacrifice fly scored Humski. Kelly's double then scored Opalisky and Chris Naiberk who reached via a walk. Kelly then scored on a single by Eric Thomas. Prendergast worked a 1-2-3 seventh inning to secure the 5-1 win for the Hatters.
