Weekend Planner: Eat Sausage, Sip Beer, Buy Crafts

Oktoberfest is slated for Saturday in Horsham and craft festivals abound this weekend.

Whether you prefer sausages and beer, or lobster and corn on the cob, this is your weekend to eat. And, if you favor something else altogether different, well there are other fun activities in the mix. Here are some options:

Why go: Have someone else wash your car and help out needy Hatboro-Horsham families. Contributions benefit the student council’s .

Cost: By donation.

Where/when: Erzgebirge Club, 130 Davisville Road, Warminster, Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: The annual benefits community charities.

Cost: $35 per adult; kids can enjoy a free hot dog dinner.

Where/when: , 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why go: Sample all the German sausages you can handle, along with rye bread, sauerkraut, applesauce and German potato salad. Ticket also includes German and domestic beer, kegged root beer, iced tea, lemonade and coffee.

Cost: $25 for adults; children 3-11 $8; under age 3 free

Where/when: Ambler Mennonite Church, 90 E. Mount Pleasant Ave., Ambler, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why go: Homemade shoo-fly pies available for purchase, plus handcrafted jewelry, fall plants and more.

Cost: Free admission.

Where/when: North Main Street, Doylestown, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy live music, food and various arts and crafts, including jewelry, pottery, photography and more.

Cost: Free admission.
