St. Alphonsus Students Top Math, Science Bowl

The school's eighth-graders finished first overall in the recent Lansdale Catholic Math and Science Bowl.

Of 14 area Catholic schools participating in Lansdale Catholic's Math and Science Bowl, eighth-graders at St. Alphonsus School in Maple Glen scored enough points to earn first place in the overall competition.

The math competition includes individual as well as team problems, while the science competition includes individual problems and a lab competition. 

The math team, under the direction of Caroline Maher, finished second in the competition with Jake McKibbin earning an additional medal for having the highest math score on the team.

The science team, under the direction of Sharon Gribb, finished second in the competition with Jason Concannon and Colin Devlin tied for the highest science score on the team.
