Pennypack Power Restored

Pennypack Elementary School students will return to the Hatboro school on Wednesday.

Pennypack Elementary School students will return to their normal classrooms on Wednesday after a lengthy power outage forced them out of that school for the last week and a half.

Power was restored to the Hatboro school Monday afternoon, according to Hatboro-Horsham School District Superintendent Curtis Griffin.

"We are currently bringing all the systems on line and are planning for a normal opening on Wednesday," Griffin told Patch.

Hatboro-Horsham schools have an inservice day on Tuesday to accommodate Election Day voting, he said.

The district returned most of its students to school on Nov. 1. After power remained out Sunday, the district put in place a plan to transport Pennypack students to Simmons Elementary School in Horsham on Monday.
