Learning Beyond Their Ages

Two Simmons Elementary School students received high marks in the school and college ability test from Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth.

As the school year comes to a close, Zach Shapiro and Colby Brundin are already ahead of the curve.

Zach, a second-grader, and Colby, a Simmons fifth-grader, have excelled in the School and College Ability Test offered by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth

Zach earned a math score of 463, which is in the 99th percentile and a verbal score of 431, which is in the 70th percentile, while Colby earned a math score of 493, which is in the 96th percentile and a verbal score of 456, which is in the 72nd percentile. 

The boys were recognized during Monday night's school board meeting for their achievements.
