The scholarship winners

  • Jung, a Hatters varsity tennis player of three years, said she took AP biology classes to help prepare her for her post-secondary science studies. She was also involved with Hatboro-Horsham's Interact Club, served as treasurer for the National Honor Society and was active with Key Club. Jung, who plans to study biology in college, identifies herself as a leader-in-the-making. "I will always strive to become better," she wrote in her scholarship application. 'I believe a true scholar seeks for knowledge throughout one's lifetime."
  • A member of his church's student leadership team and praise team, Joung, in 2010, traveled to Mexico for a mission trip and more recently spent time in Haiti helping to build a medical clinic. Joung was a member of Hatboro-Horsham's Key Club and had been inducted into the National Honor Society. When not helping others, or pursuing his biochemistry interests, Joung said rocketry has been his hobby since sixth-grade. "I have a deep passion for rocketry," Joung wrote in his scholarship application. "I also was involved with rocketry through the high school by participating in the Team America Rocketry Challenge, a nationally recognized competition."
  • Jo has participated in five different summer REACH mission trips every year since 2007 and took part in the 30-hour famine. A Hatters Key Club member and aspiring pharmacist, Jo has made the honor roll, prides himself on being punctual and has been recognized for having perfect attendance. "I have never missed a single day of school and have never arrived late in my entire life," Jo wrote in his scholarship application. "This statement applies from preschool."
