H-H Assistant Superintendent Hired by Lancaster County District

Hatboro-Horsham’s assistant superintendent will be heading to Lancaster County to take the reins at Manheim Township School District.

John Nodecker will be superintendent of the Lancaster County school district as of July 1, according to a press release from the Manheim Township School District. The School Board expects to vote on Nodecker’s appointment during a meeting Thursday.  

“We congratulate Mr. Nodecker and welcome him to the Manheim Township School District.  John’s commitment to the education of all students and educating the whole child – socially, emotionally, physically and academically – became clear during the interviewing process.  In addition, his demonstrated understanding of emerging challenges, best practices, and fiscal responsibility clearly supported his skills as a leader in public education,” Bill Murry, Manheim Township school board president, said in the press release.

“We are positive that he will have our community’s full support as he continues to implement our current vision and district strategic plan,” Murry added.

Nodecker has more than 30 years of experience in public education having served as a teacher, coordinator, assistant principal, athletic director, principal, and most recently as the assistant superintendent of the Hatboro-Horsham School District in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  In addition, he was previously named Outstanding Young Educator, Outstanding Educator and was a finalist for Teacher of the Year in various districts throughout his career.

Nodecker will replace Manheim Township's former Superintendent Dr. Gene Freeman, who left in March for a position in western Pennsylvania.

He will be paid $160,000 a year, LancasterOnline reported.
