Hatboro-Horsham Teacher Honored

A Pennypack Elementary School teacher was one of 23 finalists in 'The Voices of Inspiration Award for Teaching Excellence.'

A Pennypack Elementary School educator was one of 23 finalists recognized as part of a countywide teaching honor. 

Second-grade teacher Sharon Mirabelli recently received "The Voices of Inspiration Award for Teaching Excellence" and was recognized at this week's Hatboro-Horsham School Board meeting for the honor.

"Sharon comes to school with such an enthusiastic attitude," Pennypack Principal Amy Roslevege told the board. "She’s a model for what we would consider a master teacher."

Established by Freedom Credit Union and the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, the annual award, since its inception in 2007, aims to "recognize those teachers who exceed expectations in meeting their students’ needs," according to Freedom Credit Union's Web site.

was awarded $100 during a recent banquet and given the chance to compete as one of three finalists from the county's elementary, middle and high schools.
