Hatboro-Horsham Students Save Trick, Give Treat
Hatboro-Horsham High School students from the Helping Little Hands and Interact clubs combined forces to present "Noogiefest," a non-scary Halloween event at Gilda's Club in Warminster.
Two clubs from Hatboro-Horsham High School came together with one common goal: Give back to the community. On Friday, Helping Little Hands and Interact combined forces and put together “Noogiefest” - an un-scary haunted house for children at Gilda’s Club in Warminster.
“We are a group that reaches out into the community, and this is just one of the places we go here at Gilda’s, but we reach out to the community and help children,” said Helping Little Hands President, Danielle Lang. “There are families that come to Gilda’s that have cancer in the family and tonight we are having a haunted house for the kids.”
The main theme for the third annual Halloween event was Scooby Doo, with separate concepts in different rooms of the Club to delight and surprise all of the visitors.

“We’re hoping to not only see the kids smile tonight, but the parents too,” said Kerry Farrell, Helping Little Hands vice president. “We want them to be able to forget a little bit and get away from the stress of having a family member who is sick, or if they are sick themselves. When you come to things like this it is a little easier to forget and to just have a good time."
“Laughter is the best medicine and if we can just help a few kids feel better, that is our goal," she added. "It’s worth it.”

About 30 members of Helping Little Hands joined Interact members in decorating the grounds of Gilda’s with everything from the traditional skeletons, to the familiar face of that lovable dog, Scooby Doo.
Brianna Brainco, Interact secretary, said her club is all about community service.
“It is so nice to be able to give them a moment to have fun and not to have to think about that," Brainco said. "It really brings our clubs together, we have to put in a couple of weeks of planning and we have to coordinate everything.”
The two clubs gathered all of the supplies, most of them donated by members and everyone was smiling as they prepared for the fun-filled evening.
“The kids are just doing a great job,” said Dianna Harmon, Hatboro-Horsham guidance department secretary.
“They are really doing a super job, and what is nice is that our organization tries to help children in whatever way we can. These kids are doing it from the heart and it really helps out in the community.”
