Irvin Romero is the December 2012 Student of the Month at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology in Willow Grove. He is in his second year of Eastern's Collision Repair Technology program and a senior at Hatboro-Horsham High School.
At Eastern, Irvin maintains an A average and is actively involved in SkillsUSA as the 2012-2013 SkillsUSA Collision Repair Technology class president.
SkillsUSA is a national student organization promoting good citizenship, student leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and recognizes student achievement and excellence.
Last May, as a junior, Irvin was recognized at Eastern’s awards night with the Straight A Award and the Director’s Award. Last summer, he volunteered his time to student teach for the Intro to Automotive and Collision Repair Summer Fun program at Eastern. Irvin also volunteers at the Union Library of Hatboro every Tuesday. He played football for Hatboro-Horsham High School, and soccer for the Hatboro Heat Soccer Club.
“Irvin is dedicated to his future profession,” said Steve Parke, Eastern’s Collision Repair Technology instructor. “He is focused, hard-working and professional. I have no doubt that he will achieve all of the goals he has set for himself.”
Irvin intends to become an automotive refinisher. He is currently deciding between Universal Technical Institute or WyoTech to continue his collision repair education.
The Student of the Month Award is sponsored by Eastern’s faculty, joint committee and the Willow Grove Rotary Club to highlight student excellence, success and service. Each year, 10 students are selected for this honor.
