H-H District, Union Schedule Another Informal Negotiation Session

Officials set April 6 as next meeting before resuming formal negotiations on April 14

Hatboro-Horsham School District officials met Friday with representatives of the Hatboro-Horsham Education Association in an attempt to to the nearly 2-year-old teacher contract stalemate. 

Following the four-and-a-half hour meeting in which parties discussed issues such as salary, medical benefits and management, officials set its next informal session for April 6, according to a press release issued on behalf of the district. 

The school board authorized Superintendent Curtis Griffin and Director of Business Affairs Bob Reichert to meet with union officials. Information was not available about specifics discussed during Friday's meeting, although the tone was "cordial," according to the release.

The district's more than 400 teachers have worked without a contract since it expired on June 30, 2009. 

Officials have scheduled a formal negotiation session for April 14. During that session, each side's attorneys will also be present.
