Lakeside School's 36th Annual Graduation Ceremony

Lakeside Educational Network (LEN) will mark its 36th annual Graduation and Awards Day Ceremony for its flagship program, Lakeside School. Area students could be referred from any of 23 area school districts, who attend Lakeside School, one of four of LEN's therapeutic education programs.

Ours is a unique concept offered to all the students in each of our four programs. Students are referred to our programs, for what could be many reasons, and after having experienced trouble functioning in their home school environment. Many are at risk of dropping out but via our programs, they maintain their individual academic plan and most go on to be transitioned to their homes schools, or continue in our program or graduate!

While their achievements might be considered small to some, in terms of them being tossed into a system post high school that we might deem inadequate to sustain and fit their needs, their successes are huge! It is quite an achievement for students who have given up on themselves, and for parents and others involved in their care who are exasperated and torn as to next steps for their success.

At Lakeside we take the national drop out statistics very seriously and understand many teens today who leave before graduation fall into a system that can't handle their multi-diagnosed needs.

So we celebrate these mighty accomplishments made by students who are choosing something different than the statistics. Our events are given to our students, their families, staff and school district personnel in order to  commemorate their successes!
