Artificial Turf Completion Pushed Back to November

Rain has delayed the ongoing prep work for the installation of artificial turf.

Hatters Stadium is expected to be ready to host athletics - and a band competition - by the first weekend in November.

That is, barring further bouts of rain.

"We're hoping to get both of those in," Assistant Superintendent John Nodecker said of the Nov. 4 home football game against Central Bucks West and the Tip of the Hat marching band competition on Nov. 5. "We're really keeping our fingers crossed."

District officials had hoped to have the . Since it was not ready, those sporting events had to held elsewhere. The same would be true of the November events should the contractor run into further delays, Nodecker said.
