10 Hatboro-Horsham Students Claim Medals

Hatboro-Horsham High School students who also attend Eastern Center for Arts and Technology claimed nearly one-quarter of the medals awarded during a recent leadership competition.

Ten Hatboro-Horsham High School students were among 43 students from the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology who won medals in skill areas or leadership at the SkillsUSA District Competitions held earlier this month.

First place winners will represent Eastern at the state-level competitions to be held April 3-5 in Hershey. SkillsUSA is a national student leadership organization that encourages career and technical students to be productive individuals, work to their potential, become responsible, be proud of their accomplishments, and supportive of their community.

Eastern medalists from Hatboro-Horsham include:

Gold Medal Winners: Culinary Arts – Lauren Bissig 

Opening and Closing Ceremonies – Kelsea Henson (Commercial Art), Ashley Hoover (Commercial Art), Andrea Ho (Commercial Art), Alicia Dredge (Commercial Art) and Alex Husarenko (Computer Network Administration)

Silver Medal Winners: Automotive Refinishing – Irvin Romero (Collision Repair Technology)

Prepared Speech – Michelle Yeager (Commercial Art)

Team Works – Joshua Wharton (HVAC)

Auto Service Technology – Stefano Catoni (Collision Repair)

Wow, what a great showing for these students. I coached the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for many years back in the 80's. What a tribute to the instructors and students. Best of Luck in Hershey! Rosie Hughes
