As the first part of the formula outlines, the purpose of your cover letter, resume and job search technique is to obtain interviews.  If you are currently job searching and finding that you are not getting contacted for interviews, then you need to examine the first part of this formula.

You should be asking yourself:

-How are my cover letters?  Are they targeted for each position you are applying to and highlighting the skills and experience you have for the particular position?

-How is my resume?  Is it accomplishment based and showing a prospective employer how you can assist in solving their problems and adding value to their company?  If you feel you need assistance in developing this important marketing document, please click here for your free resume review.

-How am I job searching?  See our blog posting on the hidden job market to give you much-needed information on where to focus your job search.

-Are you getting interviews?  If so, then GOOD NEWS, the first part of the job search formula is working for you.  Your cover letters, resume and job search techniques are doing what they are supposed to do-get you an interview.  But if you are finding that you are never getting to the job offer phase of the interview process then you might benefit from the interview coaching that we offer.  Click here to contact us about our interview coaching services.

In closing, if you feel stuck in your job search, the above formula can give you a starting point in determining what you might need to improve in order to get the results you seek…which is ultimately a new position.
