Township Recognizes Retirees

Horsham presented two outgoing code enforcement employees with plaques.

For people looking to build or expand their properties, a municipality's code enforcement office could be viewed as a necessary hurdle to accomplishing their construction goal.

"Code enforcement is not the most popular part of the township," Horsham Township Manager Bill Walker said. "Usually the support staff are the first ones at the counter, the first ones on the phone."

And for 25 years, that first line of resident contact was likely Kathleen McCann, who retired recently as the department's secretary.

The Horsham Township Council presented McCann and retiring code enforcement officer Lee Jennings with plaques during Wednesday's meeting.
