School District Honors Outgoing Board Members

Hatboro-Horsham bid farewell to board members Kelley Winters and Deborah Mullen during their last meeting Monday night.

Before ushering in a newcomer to the Hatboro-Horsham School Board and welcoming back a familiar face, the district bid farewell to two outgoing members Monday night.

Kelley Winters and Deborah Mullen served at their last school board meeting. But, before closing the door on their terms, the women were presented with plaques and recognition from Superintendent Curtis Griffin, as well as fellow board members.

Between their tenure on the board and their involvement through their children, Griffin said, "it’s been a very, very long time."

He credited Winters with being the driving force behind the district's string program and a driving force for arts in general.

Mullen, whom he described as a "supporter of Eastern" Center for Arts and Technology, helped with some of the challenges at the high school, as well as with athletics, he said.

"You will be missed," Griffin said.

"It’s been a great pleasure to serve here," Winters said. "I know the board’s in good hands going forward."

Mullen said, "we'll be watching" from the sidelines and staying involved.
