More Direct Route Planned for Power Line Trail

A connection will be added from Babylon Road to Limekiln Pike and will be done in conjunction with a 94-unit development.

A proposed 94-unit single family home development planned for could provide a more direct route for walking, biking and running on the PECO Power Line Trail, an official said.

Township Manager Bill Walker said the approximate 70-acre golf club, which is located on Babylon Road, has been sold to Cutler Homes and is awaiting approval of its final subdivision plan. Those considerations will come during Horsham Township Council’s Dec. 14 meeting, Walker said.

Also being considered that night is whether the developer should be granted conditional use approval to construct a pedestrian bridge over a waterway.

As a condition of the development being constructed, Walker said Cutler homes would be required to construct a tie-in of the approximate six-mile asphalt PECO Power Line Trail from Babylon Road to Limekiln Pike.

“It makes it more of a direct route. Right now we’ve had to go around the golf course,” Walker said. “It’ll be a shorter, more direct route.”
