Montco Preps for a 'Spring Fling'

County residents are invited to celebrate the season.

Grass and trees will soon be greener. To celebrate the sign of the season, Montgomery County is preparing to welcome spring with open arms.

A "Spring Fling" will be held on Thursday. The event is set for 1 p.m. at Norristown Farm Park.

"St. Patrick's Day and the first day of spring are coming soon, so 'green' will be the theme of a Norristown Farm Park program," said Jessica Willingham, communications assistant for Montgomery County. "Participants will make green crafts, hear a story about spring, and take a walk to look for the earliest sprouting green plants."

The day's event will also feature a "nourishing green snack afterwards," according to Willingham.

This program is designed for children ages 3 to 6 with an adult helper. The fee is $5 per child. Adults must stay with the children during the program.
