Horsham Chamber on the Move

Beginning Feb. 1, the Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce will rent office space in the township's community center.

Good-bye . Hello community center.

As of Feb. 1, the Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce is changing its address – to that of the .

The Horsham Township Council, during its meeting Monday, approved an agreement with the Chamber to permit the rental of office space within the township’s community center. According to Township Manager Bill Walker, the Chamber will pay the township $500 per month for what had been previously used as space for the recreation department and later as temporary office for State Rep. Todd Stephens of Horsham.

Parks and recreation vacated the community center space after the police department moved from the township building into its own separate building, Walker said.

“The foot traffic is in the township building,” Walker said, noting that it makes sense to keep recreation in-house. “People still come in the township building.”

The Chamber’s excited co-founders, Mary Dare and Jo-Anne Zapata, shared the good news during the organization’s earlier this month.

“It’s an official office space,” Zapata said. “We’re proud to be part of the Horsham Township Municipal Complex.”

Zapata, general manager of the Days Inn in Horsham, had previously operated the Chamber out of her workplace. She said the new digs would offer the group’s more than 300 members “easy access” to resources, all while forging a stronger relationship with the township.

“Of course we’d like to grow,” Zapata said. “(But), our focus is Horsham Township.”

Effective Feb. 1, the Chamber's new address will be 1025 Horsham Road. The phone number (215-360-2968) will remain the same.
