Hatboro Welcomes New Council Member

Republican newcomer Marty Palmer took the oath of office Monday night, along with two incumbent councilmen and an appointee.

Little has changed among the Hatboro Borough Council following its reorganization Monday night.

The council remains Republican-controlled (7-0) and under the leadership of returning Council President John Zygmont.

Amid the swearing in of Zygmont, fellow incumbent Bill Tompkins and Thomas Harbaugh–who was appointed to the council in August–the governing body welcomed newcomer Marty Palmer. Mayor Norm Hawkes, the lone Democrat among the borough's elected officials, was sworn in to begin another term.

The council voted to elect Tompkins its vice president and David Rich pro-tem.
