Hatboro Seeks Grant to Upgrade Crosswalks

The area of Horsham, Moreboro and Academy roads could be upgraded with improved crosswalks.

With any luck pedestrian walking in the area of Horsham, Moreboro and Academy roads will have upgraded crosswalks in the future.

The Hatboro Borough Council this week discussed applying for a Community Development Block Grant to improve pedestrian crossings in that vicinity.

"That’s been on our list now for a couple years," Council President John Zygmont said.

Borough engineer James Dougherty said that in addition to upgrading crosswalks and adding curbing, stormwater management would be part of the roughly $215,000 project.

No action was taken. The governing body is expected to act on the grant application during its March 25 meeting.
