Hatboro 'Running a Little Late' on Budget

Hatboro's council president said the 2014 spending plan will be adopted in time.

Hatboro officials are sketching a "very preliminary" spending plan for the coming year.

Despite the Dec. 31 deadline for its approval, Hatboro Borough Council President John Zygmont said it was too early to determine if a tax increase would be part of next year's budget.

"We have some progress there but we are running a little late," Zygmont said recently. "We’ll have it done on time."

Zygmont said the council is hoping to have a draft ready for the council's Nov. 25 meeting. Preliminary budget adoption is tentatively planned for Dec. 9, he said.
