Hatboro Firehouse Project Nearing Completion

The long-awaited Enterprise Fire Company expansion project is down to punch list items, officials said.

After for a project that was supposed to have concluded a year ago, Hatboro officials told Patch that the nearly $1 million addition to the building is wrapping up.

Enterprise Fire Company President Chris Gowen confirmed that members of the fire department did a walk-through last week to determine what, if any, additional items needed to be addressed. But, that was all that Gowen said he was allowed to say.

“Now it gets complicated,” Gowen said, noting that since borough attorney Christen Pionzio was involved, he was not permitted to provide specifics related to handling of what he had following a walk-through of the building last month.

Since the project is funded by a 50-50 split between borough funds and a with various guidelines - Gowen said it’s a borough project and under the borough’s purview.

Hatboro Council President John Zygmont confirmed that borough officials conducted a walk-through of the 2,500-square-foot expansion as well, but declined further comment and directed Patch to Pionzio.

“I don’t know what can and can’t be said on the matter,” Zygmont said.

During a council meeting last month, Zygmont described the project as

Pionzio said the contractor, Titanium Inc., needs to address punch list items and change orders, but declined to disclose specifics of what was still needed.

“For the town’s best interest it’s best not to discuss,” Pionzio said. “We’re working on it. Everyone’s talking.”

When asked when the long-awaited construction project would conclude, Pionzio said that it was dependent upon “how fast Titanium finishes stuff up.”
