Hatboro Awaits Road Paving Bids

The Hatboro Borough Council hopes to award bids for road work at its Oct. 8 committee meeting.

PECO recently paved a portion of Jefferson Avenue - giving Hatboro an idea of what the road could look like later this year once the borough advances its road paving program.

The Hatboro Borough Council on Monday night voted unanimously to ratify advertisement of bids. The hope is to award the road paving work on Oct. 8 and have the work completed before winter officially arrives, officials said.

Besides the paving done by PECO, that, according to acting borough manager Fred Zollers would "match up well with our paving project," the project includes Jefferson and Corinthian avenues.

The governing body is awaiting road paving bids for Jefferson Avenue from County Line Road to Corinthian Avenue. The project would also include Corinthian Avenue except for where the roadway intersects with Warminster Road.

The remaining roadways that had been originally part of this year's paving program will be done in 2013. Those roads include Bank Street, the intersection of Horsham, Moreboro and Academy roads and the former Wachovia Bank parking lot.
