Hatboro Appoints Staff, Sets Meeting Dates

The Hatboro Borough Council reorganized Monday night and, in doing so, appointed staff, set its meeting dates for 2014.

Staffing for Hatboro's borough government will remain the same in 2014.

The Republican-controlled borough council, during Monday night's reorganization meeting, voted to keep currently appointed staff in existing positions. The governing body also voted to continue its current meeting schedule, which calls for committee meetings on the second Monday of the month and council meetings on the fourth Monday of the month.

In several instances, borough staffers wear several hats, as is the case with Fred Zollers, who serves as borough manager, borough secretary, public works superintendent and zoning officer.

Diane Hegele will continue to serve as assistant borough secretary and open records officer.

James Gardner continues as Hatboro Police Chief and Detective Sgt. Cameron Goold as the police department's open records officer.

Joe Reading continues as the fire marshal and property maintenance inspector, while Roy "Butch" Thomas serves as deputy fire marshal.

Alex Kaljnas was reappointed treasurer.

In terms of professional appointments, Christen Pionzio of Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin continues as the borough attorney; Gilmore and Associates as the engineer; Lopez, Teodosio & Larkin as auditor; Berkheimer as the collection agent; and Code Inspections as the building code official.
