Gubernatorial Candidate Drops Out of Race

John Hanger said Thursday that Thomas W. Wolf was the Democratic Party's clear front-runner.

The number of people running for governor of Pennsylvania dropped by one Thursday.

Democrat John Hanger of York at a news conference in Harrisburg announced that he would be dropping out of the race, saying that he felt candidate Thomas W. Wolf was the party's clear front-runner, Politics PA reported.

Hanger, a former Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection secretary, had received attention for his plan to legalize and tax marijuana.

Still vying for the party's nomination on May 20 are Pennsylvania Treasurer Rob McCord; former Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Secretary   Kathleen McGinty; U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz; former Pennsylvania Auditor General Jack Wagner, and Wolf.

The winner of the May primary will face Gov. Tom Corbett in the November general election.

Who is Alison Smith? Is she from Easton? Does she live in our neighborhoods? What is her connection to the area?

I agree with Melody. PA deserves better. Please, let's return to sanity. #CorbettMustGo simple as that. His election year budget and his 'work around' trying to save PA from the National Republicans deep cut in SNAP is a pathetic attempt to save his own job. Nothing more. Never mind PA has gone from the 4th state in nationwide job creation down to 48th. TomCorbett is the highest paid Governor in the entire country, yet he refuses to #RaiseTheWage in PA. Remember in November and be sure to VOTE! #Red2Blue.

Dont for get Ken Krawchuck the Libertarian running for Governor. Only true person that doesn't dodge questions and will give you solutions. We have tried Republic and we tried Democrats, and look where we are.... time to try something new.

Ever notice that no matter which of the major party players, red or blue, is in office, that the system plows on just about the same? Same gripes, same overspending, less return on the tax dollars pouring in to Harrisburg. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. Try something different. Libertarian Ken Krawchuck.
