Dedication of the PFC Joseph J. Lannon, Jr.Memorial Bridge

Rep. Tom Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) will join the family of Joseph Lannon Jr. during a ceremony to dedicate a bridge at Horsham and York roads as the PFC Joseph J. Lannon, Jr., U.S.M.C. Memorial Bridge. 

The observance will take place on May 21 at 10 a.m. in Miller Meadow, located at the intersection of Horsham and York roads.  

Joseph J. Lannon Jr. was born on May 10, 1949, and grew up on Park Avenue in Hatboro Gardens. He graduated from St. John Bosco School, and later from Hatboro-Horsham High School in 1967. After enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation, he was deployed to Vietnam in July 1968. On October 1, 1968, Pfc. Lannon was killed in combat in Quang Nam, South Vietnam.

His sacrifice will now be remembered in a community tribute on May 21.
