Capital Project Delays Won't Impact Back to School

Several school renovation projects at Hatboro-Horsham schools will not be finished in time for the first day of school on Sept. 4.

As students’ summer vacations wind down, officials are busily working to get facilities ready for the return of school on Sept. 4.

And while Bob Reichert, the district’s director of business affairs said “we’re in good shape to start school,” he acknowledged this week that more work would continue after students are welcomed back next month.

The goal is to finish capital projects during the summer months, but Reichert said a well project at would likely continue this fall because of testing delays. A gutter project at would wrap up this fall, he said. A new fire alarm system at is expected to conclude a few weeks into the school year, Reichert said.

Ongoing work would have “no effect on the start of school,” Reichert told the board this week.

In terms of transporting students, Reichert said all of the district’s bus routes have been developed and would be tested this week. Routes are available here and would be posted at all of the schools Labor Day weekend, Reichert said.
