Billboard Decision Expected Next Month

The Horsham Zoning Hearing Board is expected to render a decision on the billboard proposed for Easton Road.

Once envisioned as a two-sided billboard for a section of Easton Road in Horsham Township, Premier Media has since downsized its request.

Instead of two 300-square-foot sides, the applicant, following resistance from township officials, amended its zoning hearing board application and is now looking to install a one-sided 300-square-foot billboard, according to Horsham Township Manager Bill Walker.

The application was reviewed by the township's zoning hearing board recently. A decision is expected at its Dec. 10 meeting, Walker said.

Billboards are permitted in certain sections of the three township roads under an ordinance adopted last year. The regulation is aimed at keeping the large displays out of the majority of the 17-square-mile township.

To date, Horsham does not have any billboards within its borders.
