Upper Moreland Pedestrian Killed in Hatboro

A 75-year-old Upper Moreland woman was walking in Hatboro when she was hit by a car.

A 75-year old Upper Moreland woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle on Friday evening, Hatboro Police said. 

The crash occurred at approximately 6:16 p.m. as she was walking along North Warminster Road near Lycoming Avenue in Hatboro, according to police. 

Hatboro Police were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival found the woman on the side of the road after she was hit by the southbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 60-year-old Upper Moreland resident, gave consent to a blood test.

The woman was transported by the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad to Abington Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed at this time and the incident is being jointly investigated by the Hatboro Police Department and Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

North Warminster Road was closed for several hours while police investigated.  Hatboro Police were assisted by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, Upper Moreland Police, Enterprise Fire Company and Willow Grove Fire Company.

The names of the deceased woman and driver of the vehicle are not being released at this time.
